About Us

THE HILTON FAMILY & PARTNERS

The Hilton Family really is a family, not just a marketing name used by a pub chain. Clive, Roz, Tom, and George are all involved, on a day-to-day basis, in the business.

We started in 2014 with the well-known “Dog and Fox Inn” at Bradford on Avon. Over the last ten years we have built it into a popular destination for many locals and visitors, all of whom enjoy the pub that we have re-created.

As Partners it is our aim to provide all our customers with an enjoyable experience in a traditional British pub. We welcome all our local customers, many of whom have now become our friends, to join us in our pub to meet, socialise and to drink and eat.

As a pub business we welcome everyone whether they just want to pop in for “a swift one” while walking the dog, to sit down and enjoy drinks with friends, or eat a good meal with a drink in a relaxing atmosphere.

Our pub has real fires, burning kiln dried logs in the winter, and this adds to the warm feeling of welcome that you get in our historic building. In the same way the pub has a pleasant garden in which to sit and relax in the warmer months.

An excellent find prior to an event at Wiltshire Music Centre. Quirky, with a warm and friendly welcome and, more importantly, lovely food. We’ll be back.

I treated myself to battered sausage. A truly magnificent, oversized golden log, sporting a rugged, bubbly batter crust that promises maximum crunch. The batter provides a shattering crunch on the first bite, giving way immediately to a soft, piping-hot, and tender pork sausage. Rich and deeply savory, elevated tenfold when slathered in a sweet-yet-tangy curry sauce. Looking forward to my next visit, battered fish.....

A lovely quiet early afternoon - we were seeking a pub to sit outside and enjoy the weather with good food and we were not disappointed. A delight!

Really nice pub and idyllic rural setting. We had a lovely family Sunday lunch - I highly recommend the roast dinner & dessert. Very nice service too - we look forward to returning again soon.

Average food Lovely pub and very busy, especially the beer garden. Sat indoors as we had reserved a table. Staff lovely and friendly. However the food is very average. All three of us had chicken tenders which were so small they were really chicken chips! Him egg and chips - 6 chips! Eggs so vet cooked they were rubbery and ham from a supermarket. Scampi average, chips nice, crushed peas watery. Kiev nice but small portion of veg and celeriac. Would return for drinks but not good.

Wonderful little pub for good food. What a lovely little pub. We made a last minute Mother's day booking for 3 and they managed to squeeze us in. We had a delicious meal, my husband had roast beef and I had the veggie Wellington whilst our daughter had 2 starters and my portion of cauliflower cheese (I can't eat dairy). We then followed with crumble and sticky toffee pudding. It was all delicious and we were well stuffed! The staff were so helpful and friendly. We will be back, hopefully in warmer weather so we can sit outside, I'm sure the garden is lovely on a summer evening. Glad to have found this hidden gem.

Will visit again for a drink but won't eat. Such a shame as its local and a year ago the food was excellent. We went for dinner, I ordered steak and ale pie with seasonal veg (roasted parsnips) and chunky chips. The pie was luke warm and had lots of carrot chunks in it. The steak was not very tender and not in a gravy like I imagined. It was served with a small amount of gravy in a small jug, but not sure where the ale came in??? I really regret not sending it back straight away. I did tell the waiter that it was luke warm but didnt want to cause a scene with my family there.

This is an absolute GEM This is a quaint little pub and the food is excellent. Nice dining area, open fires in both dining and the bar. Absolutely friendly, service wonderful. Home made soup. Basic menu at its very best. Out of the town but well worth visiting with a wonderful atmosphere. Your first visit will not be your last.

An alll-round excellent experience We booked a table of 12 for Sunday lunch at the end of November. Booking was simple and didn't require a deposit, which nowadays is very trusting of any hospitality business. From arrival to departure, everything was perfect! Despite being busy, we found space next to the open fire and had drinks before being seated. Sunday lunch was hot, plentiful and served in good time by lovely, friendly and accommodating staff. Nothing was too much trouble. The children and vegetarians in our party were catered for too, which is not always the case in all pubs. We unanimously agreed that it was the best Sunday roast we had experienced in ages, by a long shot. Beer was well kept, the landlord was very personable and obviously runs a tight ship. Special thanks to the kitchen team for plating up another roast dinner after service for one of our latecomers, who had been stuck on the M4 for three hours. This was thoroughly appreciated. Well worth travelling from South Wales for. Would highly recommend.

A unspoiled gem of a pub! I had the steak and ale pie this evening and my partner had the fish and chips, both amazing as ever. I’m local and this is my favorite pub to go to, whether after a long summer walk to sit in the beer garden with a cider or on a winters night to enjoy a warm fire and a lovely meal that’s freshly made and doesn’t cost the earth. Great atmosphere in either scenario. The service is always enjoyable, polite, efficient and reassuringly down to earth, it is what I love about the dog and fox!

Best roast I’ve had in ages. I’ve just had the best Sunday roast I’ve had in ages. The beef was tender, the generous variety of vegetables were perfectly cooked & the enormous Yorkshire pudding was sublime. The staff were very friendly & attentive & the atmosphere is cosy & unrushed. I really think it’s great value for a slap up delicious roast & highly recommend you pay them a visit.

Super roast in a great traditional pub Traditional English pub set in the countryside just up the hill from Bradford. Cosy bar, great garden and a cracking Sunday roast. Comes with all the sides you expect with a good roast. Cauliflower cheese, stuffing, red cabbage, broccoli, carrots, Yorkshire and gravy. Always had pork, pretty good
